Hans-Alfred („Hennes“) Roth started his career as a type setter at “Deutscher Sportverlag” in Cologne. Since 1972 he has been working as a photographer of sports with the special subject “Cycling”.
At many national and international events (Tour de France, all classic races and about 100 World Championships in Cyclo-Cross, Road, Track and Indoor Cycling) he has taken photos of all famous cyclists.
Additional special subjects of his work are ice hockey, handball and basketball.
Numerous daily newspapers, television companies, programme guides, book publishers, calendar publishers, news magazines, advertising agencies and specialist journals in Germany and abroad belong to his clients.
Since 2002 his photos are printed in the book “Radsport-Jahresückblick” (Cycling review of the year), which is published in cooperation with the Ex-Professional Marcel Wüst.
As a special award he won the “Sven Simon Preis” in 2001 with a cycling photo.
